There's several new photos to see of Perry 2008 on the SSA website:
http://ssa.org/sport/PhotoGalleryMai...contest&id=299 Many have been shot by Glenn Holden, who had one of his photos gracing the month of March on the 2008 SSA calendar and the cover of the April 2008 issue of "SOARING" magazine. Glenn operates one of the three Worldwide Turnpoint Servers and he told me tonight that it burned up. Literally, smoke coming out of it and smelling bad. I spoke with Glenn by phone on this past Saturday morning and he was watching over his server as it was making a backup. He said, "Backup's done. I'm leaving for Perry right now". But tonight, he told me his son called earlier and said the computer was fried. This is the site of www.soaring.gahsys.com but the good news is the two other servers are still operational. Glenn won't be back at his home until Perry is over so he can't do anything about his server until then. Glenn was one of the many who got hit with food poisoning or virus or bug or whatever ailment struck at Perry today and he's glad he didn't fly. I hope they all get better quickly and fly on the next contest day! Ray |
