LEDs by
Hilton
Hi,
Seems like it is a no-brainer (and easy) for pilots to use LEDs in various
forms. Why then, do miners not use them? Why do those trapped miners only
have a few hours of light available? Heck, the mine companies could buy al
cheapo LEDs for nothing and spread them throughout the mine for...

PIREP: Iowa State Fair by
Jay Honeck
If you're looking for a great fly-in destination, it's hard to beat
the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines. It's a true piece of traditional
Americana, with every cliche from pork chops on a stick to funnel
cakes to politicians kissing babies. Throw in high-stepping horses,
bulls the size of Toyotas,...

"Rolling the Equipment" by
Judah
The other night I was on an airline flight...
The weather was VFR.
The plane did a low approach, wheels maybe 50' above the runway, and about
halfway down the runway kicked the engines on and did a go around.
The pilot came on and indicated that there was "an indicator light" that
caused them...

Sightseeing Regulations by
Judah
A few months back, I was on an airline flight coming home to LGA in the
most clear day I had seen in months! (Haze in NY is quite common.) The
plane flew over Lady Liberty and right up the Hudson River at what had to
be about 3000'. It's a pretty standard approach, and happens frequently,
but...

I'm seeing a huge number of spam postings in this group. I'm sure they are
from a bot, but since the address keeps switching, I don't know how to block

Suggestions?

Update on Wednesday's trip by

The interesting part of the flight was the demonstration again that
forecasters forecast and the Great Lakes do as they damn well
please... FSS briefers insisted that my route was 10 miles viz and
12,000 foot broken in scattered light rain with conditions improving
by my departure time - I kept...
