New news Soaring is dangerous ? by
R Barry
As we all know soaring has it's challenges and risks. So does
building & flying your own plane. Check out this link and read the
second paragraph for details on the danger facing us.

My question is if soaring is so dangerous why when you go to the...

Soaring at Invermere, Canada by
Roy Clark
Am thinking about a soaring week+ with a soaring pal at Invermere next
season.
We both have FAI Gold C with 1-2 Diamonds.
Base my DG-300 at Ephrata, Wa, USA.
Have visited the Invermere website and have a Canada Calgary VFR
Navigation Chart that already has some "Wow!" and drool stain spots.

Thanks to R.A.S. I got a new 2-32 Flight-Erection manual from Schweizer
Aircraft Corporation, thanks. I would also like to get a copy of the Parts
and Maintenance Manual which is no longer available from Schweitzer. Would
anybody be willing to scan their copy and send it to me?

Downloadable sailplane maintenance manuals by
Bela
I am in the process of compiling a digital collection of all
fiberglass sailplane maintenance manuals.
So far I found a source only for the DG & LS sailplanes at the DG site
http://www.dg-flugzeugbau.de/handbuecher-e.html
I would appreciate URLs for other types, in english.

celebrity pilot news (USA) by
John H. Campbell
Thanks to TV's "Party of Five" and"Lost" star Matthew Fox (you probably read
this newsgroup) for a fine brief explanation of why he flies sailplanes
(apparently 5 years now), and what soaring is all about. This a couple of
nights ago to late late night host Carlson Daly, who was game with the...

3 tps and 10 km by
Ian Molesworth
Karel your proposal wording still does not quite work!
For example someone could declare Start - A - B - A - Finish where start and
finish are the same as TP B ( or just 10 metres away from B ) - its a double
out and return, a yo-yo!
you still need to seperate any waypoints ( TP's or start and...

Frankfort in October by
Andy Davey
I live in the area (Aschaffenburg). I can recommend
Babenhausen, Aschaffenburg(EDFC), Gelnhausen, Langenselbold
and Obernau.
Babenhausen is winch and aerotow, EDFC aerotow only,
as is gelnhausen. the other 2 are winch only.
Unless you've got your own a/c, then the normal procedure
is a wazz round...

The Pipistrel Sinus motorglider will be at the Copperstate fly-in. I should be
in space A5 right on the flight line. This all composite aircraft is available
as a kit or ready to fly.
And yes, I know it is a funny name.

Streifeneder GFS seals by
Catherine Conway
Hi
Has anyone fitted these seals? I ordered them for our Ventus but am having
problems figuring out how the bottom seals work. A photo would be great!
I have the teflon tape but 2mm glue line to the wing seems a little small.
I'm assuming "Falzband" means the narrowmylar tape and that it should...

FAA says towing ULV's is OK? by
ken ward
It looks like FAR 61.69 and 91.309 as of 1 Sep 04 have now added the
words "unpowered ultralight vehicle", which in FAR 103 are hang gliders.
I don't know how this pertains to a Sparrowhawk, but if an FBO can tow
gliders heavier than a Sparrowhawk, and lighter than a Sparrowhawk, then
they ought...

Dear Mr. Smith,
Thank You for the advice on the tinfoil...for some time now I
have taken to wearing a tinfoil "flight suit"...it makes relieving oneself
burdensome at best, but does aid in the aforementioned freeing of ones mind,
provided you are not prone to rashes, in which case I'd suggest...

Switching between multiple Volksloggers by
Mark Zivley
Should work, best to test it first. Also, check to see if there is a
"ground" in the serial wiring diagram too. If so, you need to connect
them together as well, but that can be done permanently (not switched) I
would think.
