DG-100 Headrest by
[email protected]
Hi Folks,
I'm trying to get comfortable in a DG-100 that currently has no headrest, and am finding that my neck gets sore quite quickly without one. I'm 6'3 and am very reclined in the cockpit (I have to be to fit). I'm using a national backpack chute.
I'm aware that the early DG-200s with the 2...

push rod and bearing inspection. by
john firth
Further to my post on corrosion in the wing, I have completed inspection of
everything I could see of the drive mechanism of my PIK 20E flaperon drives.
A fibre optic monochrome display was very hard to interpret; However
a 10w white LED ( at 2 w) on a 1/4 in Al tube allowed visual inspection
of...

Nano 4 from Craigy Aero by
Waveguru
I have purchased 2 Nano 4s from Craggy Aero and both of them have had serious problems. The first one developed a charging problem where it said it was fully charged, but it wasn't, and it would go dead during the flight, and the second Nano 4 has now had the screen go almost completely dark,...

ASG-29 Coke Bottle Whistle by
RickH
I hope some of you ASG-29 drivers have either experienced or heard of this issue I'm having with my 2012 ASG-29. The ship has about 200 hours on it. At about 100-110 knots I have a very loud and annoying sound that comes from the rear of the ship. It sounds just like someone blowing over a coke...

Tapered pins (again) by
[email protected]
Helped the new owner beat his 27 together, last Sunday.............he looked shocked when I suggested he "taper" at least one pin. Nothing too severe, just 15 degrees and only on the part that extends out the back side of both spars. Found a 40mm pin in the barn from K-21 and it has 5 degree taper...

Vario sticks by
[email protected]
I have a Winter variometer. On my last flight, the needle was sticking at an 8 knot climb indication. After I landed, I tapped on the face of the instrument 4 times and it appeared to correct to zero after the 4th tap. Does anyone know a fix for this? I wonder if the cost to send it to an...

Mounting tires on 3" solid tailwheels by
[email protected]
I'm one of the club fixit guys, and I got a little obsessed with the task of mounting a tire on a Tost 3" dia. solid tailwheel. I tried all the good advice offered on this and other forums with zero success. Most likely I lack superhuman hand strength and three extra arms.
Success took the form...

Phoebus A as a first glider by

What are your thoughts regarding the Phoebus A as a first glider for a low-time pilot who received their training in a 2-33? I have the opportunity to acquire a Phoebus for a very good price from the club that I'm training with, but it has not flown in over 15yrs. No one knows of any obvious...

FAA written exam for gliders by
