Recycle uses for old Dyneema and Spectra - ideas? by
[email protected]
So many places who accept poly rope to make something else out of. All we could come up with here was put worn Amsteelblue on the retrieve winch.
Sometimes the paraglider guys will ask for it but only three thousand feet for their payout machine.
One less serious suggestion from a visitor was...

Dave Springford
I'm planning to go to the 15M Nationals in Nephi and am looking for a car or truck to rent so that the RV can stay parked for the duration of the contest. Before I go to one of the commercial rental companies to book something, I thought I would see if there are any glider pilots in the Nephi area...

Spot sends broken notification links. Really, guys?? by
Kurt Thams
I notice that Spot texts send broken links for text alerts.
They are of the form:
Track his location at http://tinyurl.com/abz3iek(End)
The "(End)" is not actually part of the link, and therefore, breaks the link. If you peal that off, you get directed to the right place.
Or maybe this is...

ClearNav Vario Question by
Dan Marotta
I can't find the answer on the website.
I have a ClearNav XC vario installed in my (for sale) LAK-17a. I'm
thinking of keeping it (for a price reduction, of course) and installing
it in my Stemme. The question is: Does the CNvXC come with engine
noise logging? If not, is it an option to...

Some of you know who I am and that I have not had a real sailplane since I sold my Ventus2CX a few years ago. I am still waiting for Flarms to be mandatory in all contests before I try to find a way back into competition.
What I have been doing is flying my electric Lazair and RV8.

Hi All,

Gelcoat Sanding by
Peter von Tresckow
So after attending Uncle Hank's presentation at the convention I have been
inspired to sand out the crazing in my gel coat. I am planning on the
600-1000-1200-1500 wet sanding process and then buffing out the finish.
I understand the basics, but does anyone have a good primer on the...

Is Trizact worth the money? by
[email protected]
I'm curious to know if experienced glider sanders think the 3m trizact is worth the money they charge for it. I can get more than twice the number of 3000 grit 3m purple sanding disks for the same price. They don't have the foam backing - but I can fix that. Is the trizact 3000 more than twice...

I had to replace the axle on my Komet trailer. I now have 5 lug wheels on it. The old 13in 4-lug wheels are available (3 wheels, no tires). They are in good shape, no rust, fresh white paint on two of the wheels. Southern California.

Recertify/Reweb Seat Belts/Shoulder Harness by
JimF
Hi, To my untrained eyes my original LS 4 belts look to be in excellent condition. However, they are way past their expiration date.
What do you guys usually do? Replace or Reweb, and if reweb where do you send them? Or just keep them as long as they look good?
Thanks.
