Soaring conditions around the USA this season so far by son_of_flubber
May 2014 in Vermont was excellent for this year. I managed to fly on seven days. 4/7 days had rare strong lift, high ceilings, and reasonable wind. Last year June was mostly rain, but maybe the good weather pattern will continue. I'd be interested to read meteorological retrospection on why the...

Oudie 5.19 Bug by Lauren
Oudie 5.19 has a bug that does not allow you to type in waypoint names. Naviter said the bug will be fixed soon, but I woudl advise holding off on updating till the problem is fixed.

Actual Rope Break by Kevin Christner
I had my first "rope break" ever today. I was approximately 200-250ft above the ground. Emergency procedures were not a problem. The Tost released for some reason. Its a nose hook so the back release mechanism could not have been the culprit. Further testing with the wheel break on the ground...

What airport is this? by [email protected]
Please disregard the beautiful gull wing Mercedes in the video. I was thinking Southern California somewhere, but the Texas license plate throws me a loop.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ti0aoGREUKU&index=12&list=PLX0XQV2-BhTdXVLuMzFm1ESMUaZU7IwJg

Lithium 3.6 Battery by HGXC[_3_]
After a long trip towing my glider I was going thru the cockpit and on the floor I discovered a Lithium battery in a black plastic holder on the floor near the instrument panel, (I hate when that happens). The battery is about th same size as a AA and i have no idea where is came from or goes. No...

Battery for Becker radio by HGXC[_2_]
I have a older model Becker radio with 5 presets. The presets do not hold the memory between use and my guess is the backup internal battery is dead. Does anyone know where i can get the battery and how difficult is it to install on this radio. Yes I have called Becker and they would like me to...

XC Pilots - is this fair ? by KiloKilo[_2_]
John Carlyle came up a little short on the local G-CUP race - and made an off-field landing in a local horse farm near PGC. The ponies took a liking to his glider and the crew car ... covering both with a nice coat of equine saliva. John now has to suffer through publication of his mishap like...

spot by [email protected]
After I hit tracks (foot mark) my spot just flashes red, with no tracks being sent. Fresh batteries, clear view of the sky, turning it on and off again make no difference. Has anyone experienced this? Any way to wake it up, or is it busted and just get a new one? Thanks John Cochrane

S-Nav Recalibration? by vontresc
I may be in the need for an s-nav calibration. For the last few flights i've been wondering why the s-nav keeps showing 50+kt headwinds no matter which way I go. So I finally read the fine manual, and tried to adjust the airspeed offset in the box. Even at full -99 it till showed an airspeed of 50...

LXSIM problem by Sam Zimmerman
Has anyone mastered the LXsim program? I have loaded the North American database but can't get the simulator aircraft to leave Slovakia. I loaded Perry TPs and a task, have tried "starting" the task, but get nothing but a flight near Celjic(?). Any pointers would be appreciated.
