SZD 48-3/59 WINGLETS by
Paul Hanson
Anyone out there have an extra set of wingletted' tips
for an SZD-59? How about have/know of a wrecked SZD
48-3 (Jantar Standard 3) that is equipped with winglets?
Preferably the 59 tips, but if not the tips off a 48-3
will do, especially if they can be sawed off at a little
over 1m from outboard...

Tost brake bolt shears off by
Jack Glendening[_2_]
I am wondering if others have experienced the shearing of a Tost brake
bolt resulting in brake failure - I'm speaking about the bolt which
extends from the hub and is secured to the aircraft frame (not
the bolt which extends for the wire lever attachment). I experienced
such a failure on my latest...

My 302 and PDA are no longer on speaking terms by
Dixie Sierra
On Saturday, my 302 and my PDA (5450) stopped talking to one another.
They've been together for about 18 months without any issues.
It started when the PDA complained about low battery power. I thought
that odd, but I still had GPS data. I could see that the PDA wasn't
charging by the absence of...

issue of Soaring Magazine from 1957 by
[email protected]
I am looking for copy of Soaring Magazine from 1957. It would be an
issue from late in the year with an article about a fatal glider
crash. The pilot was Stanley Graham and the flight was out of El
Mirage in a Baby Bowlus. The crash occurred in late August 1957.
Thank you,
Richard Graham

Gliders in Advertising by
Neil Allison
Recently seen at Texas Instruments site (I first saw it on their
homepage):
http://www.ti.com/corp/docs/landing/opa369/index.htm
Low power, high performance, wide temp range, glider advertising...
Maybe now there's an even better reason to specify TI ;)

Yet another polished joke by

Jim this is your Polish joke :
Gotta admit, those Polish pilots put on one helluvan
airshow, don't they? Wonder how many time they had
to practice that stunt to get it just right . . .
In yet another Polish joke, I understand that ACA's

Final Thesis - Research to engines in sailplanes by
Jonas De Rese
Dear all,
I am doing my final thesis in Aerospace Engineering
at the Technical University of Delft (Netherlands).
As an introductory part of this thesis I am doing some

Pretty sad groups of fu*kers make comments like that.
Hmm ACA... it figures. Abhorrent Childish Assh*les

Actually, the whole thread in question has very little
to do with the Polish airshow accident. It's a long
story, and you have to know the people involved, and
some of you do, but why...

Wagons used for towing in Europe by
Papa3
Hi all,
Following up on the recent thread regarding the VW Jetta, I'm curious
to find out what other station wagons (not SUVs, not hatchbacks, but
proper wagons) folks are using in Europe. I'm currently using a 2002
VW Passat VR6 Wagon (Variant) with the 4motion drive train and it's
been...

Excel Logbook update by
[email protected]
I've added a column for XC Distance, as requested by several people,
and emailed out the changes. If you're one of the people who
requested the logbook spreadsheet, and didn't get the update, I missed
adding you to my distribution list. Email me again and I'll send the
update.

the greatest gliding pilot in the world ! by
Mal[_4_]
Steve Fossett is being haled by Richard Branson as "the greatest aviator in
the world, he's also the greatest gliding pilot in the world"
I hope via a miracle they find him alive.
Given the technology he was carrying I find the chance of him being alive
remote.
I also noted Steve Irwin passed...

Some of them are pretty good. I have finally created and mailed the photo

New iPAQ 210 by
Paul Remde
Hi,
A few customers just clued me in about the upcoming new iPAQ 200 Series. It
looks like an excellent replacement for the iPAQ hx4700. The only question
is whether or not the "24 pin connector" is the same as used on previous
iPAQs and whether or not it has an RS-232 serial port. I hope it...
