'Retard, retard' by

Is that rather uncomplimentary pre-recorded playback near the end of
flights generated by the radio altimeter or GPWS?

DEN touch n go without a fee? by
Ron Lee
I am having problems getting a good answer whether landing fees apply
to a GA plane doing a single touch n go at Denver. Does anyone here
have official/real-life info? The FAA will let me do it but at a
possible $40-$95 I won't.

"Pilots for 9/11 Truth" by
Orval Fairbairn
Over on alt.politics.usa is a thread called "Pilots for 9/11 Truth",
with the usual collection of kooks and loons seeking "TRUTH".
I am the only pilot there challanging them, so, if you want to play with
the animals, I suggest that others join the party!

Summer's over -- where'd you go? by
Jay Honeck
With school started, and family vacations a soon-to-be-distant memory,
it's time to reflect on a summer of flying. Where'd everyone fly to?
What was the coolest flight you made this summer? Help us plan NEXT
summer's flight, by describing your "must-see" place from this year.
I'll get the ball...

The Comair crash reminds me... by
Kyler Laird
Years ago I was leaving Purdue
http://www.airnav.com/airport/LAF
before the tower opened. (I think I was headed to Hamfest with some
friends. I don't usually get airborne that early.)
As I taxied to runway 5 I heard the local turboprop commuter (Mesaba, I
think) call a taxi to runway 10. I was...

LEX Crash: a truely American conundrum by
john smith
An airline crashes in the United States.
The lawyers come out in droves to sue.
But wait, the airline is in bankruptcy!
Do they still sue?
Who will pay their contingency fees and costs?

TIS (traffic information service) by
[email protected]
We have had TIS in three of the planes in our partnership for a while
now. I consider it a safety of flight issue. When it is working the
number of unseen planes around you it displays is amazing. I really
don't want to fly without it at this point. Unfortunately is seems
that the data is not...

KLEX CRJ TO distance by
Mike Isaksen
I keep hearing the media state the CRJ fully loaded needs 5000+ feet for
takeoff. But the devil is always in the details: Does anyone have the approx
expected ground roll TO numbers? The expected roll distance to V1? And does
anyone know if runway 26 has runway remaining signage?
I'm asking...

Class B VFR by

I'm hoping to make my long VFR cross-country for my commercial license

I'm tentatively planning to fly into CAK which is class bravo
airspace. As I was planning the flight today, I realized that I haven't
flown VFR into...

No Direct Flights? by
Toks Desalu
I wasn't too happy when I got the call from AA few minutes ago. I paid top
dollars to get on direct flight from Pittsburgh to Dallas. That flight would
leave first thing in the morning, 7am, I got the called few minutes ago and
was told that my flight was cancelled and they won't say the real...

Avgas Coming Down? by
Jon Kraus
Here in Indianapolis I have seen Mogas go down from $3.20 a gallon to
$2.50 and it appears that it will keep on dropping.
On the other hand at my home base I just filled up for a trip and still
are paying $4.50 a gallon. Has anyone noticed if Avgas is coming down
too? Maybe it has to do with...
