Oil screen housing for O-320 by
mike regish
Anybody have a source for an oil screen cover for an O-320 or know about
what they go for? It also needs the tapped hole for the temp probe. It's
about a 9/16" hole right in the middle.
TIA.

Geeting Around Company Policy - Part 2 by
Iain Wilson
I posted a while back about finding a way around my company's policy of not
allowing employees to fly private aircraft to places of business.
Someone suggested getting my own insurance and having the company named on
the policy. I pursued that and here's what happened:
I checked out AOPAIA and...

G.A. is healthy ? by
tony zambon
according to the aopa website boyer is quoted as saying that ga is healthy.
huh? I have been flying since 69 and I have not seen ga under attack on so
many fronts as today. The average ga fleet is 30 some years old, you dont
see kids at the airport anymore, most of the pilots are us older types,...

Boston Approach frequency question by
John R
The low altitude frequency for BOS approach south of either BOS
R270 or near Interstate 90 is charted as 124.1 Mhz. Maybe that
is the frequency that they use at 3 AM on a Sunday morning, but
I've always been asked to use 120.6, both on initial call ups or
handoffs from another sector. This...

having a "blonde moment" when it comes to gyro procession and props by
xerj
Pitching a clockwise spinning (seen from the cockpit) prop forward will
result in a yaw to the left, pitching it up will result in a right yaw.
Correct so far?
However, why does a yaw to the right cause a pitch up, and a yaw to the left
cause a pitch down? I thought it would be the other way,...

Owning Your Own Airplane: Insurance Required? by
Phoenix Pilot
I dont need to be preached to about the importance of having insurance
on your airplane, but I remember hearing somewhere recently that as a
aircraft owner, your not required by law to have it insured (the way
you are with a car.)
Is there any truth to this?

Fly-camp into KHSE by

Anyone ever fly into Hatteras and camp out? Seems one of the NPS campsites
is only about a mile from the airstrip, an easy stroll.
Any recommendations? Does the camping area fill up fast?

Oil leak by
mike regish
Did an oil change on my Tripacer. I've done them before and they're pretty
easy. This one though, it looks like my oil screen cover is leaking like
crazy.
I actually changed the oil last month right before it went into annual. They
flew it (looks like a couple of hours worth) with no leaks...

Spousal checkride -- any suggestions? by
Eric Ross
I recently received my license and I am taking my somewhat nervous wife
up for the first time. I am aiming for a clear, reasonably smooth day.
Any suggestions for making this flight as positive as possible for her?
Thanks much,
