Pills & propellers by
jan olieslagers[_2_]
Bob,
Thanks for one more entertaining text and valuable lesson.
Hoping the question's not too stupid: while you mention diameter and
pitch and some parameters I don't really understand, why do you never
discuss the number of blades on the prop?
It seems obvious that a two-bladed prop is by far...

homebuilt +/- 1350 lbs gross? by
jan olieslagers[_2_]
After due examination of mission, the Europa (see
www.europa-aircraft.com) is my ideal plane.
Following inspection of budget, it seems too expensive;
even if the sterling/euro rate became more favourable.
What other homebuilts are around with a grossweight of
1300-1400 pounds, and accepting a...

Cancer Report
for Wed, 19 Nov 2008 @ 1700
I was initially diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on 14 June 2008. The
diagnosis was confirmed on 20 June 2008. X-ray and MRI located the
tumor in my pelvic girdle and lower spine. Over a two-week period X-
ray therapy was used to kill as much of the...

DIY Gascolator by
[email protected]
To All:
The Gascolator dates from the days of the Model T Ford. Back in those
days the fuel tank was located in the cowl, just forward of the
windscreen -- which was plate glass. The filler was located on the
cowl. The float-type quantity gauge was located in the instrument
cluster. The system...

Badwater Bill has left the earth to soar with the eagles! by
BobR
Since I don't frequent the ANN site unless someone brings up a special
story there I didn't see this but Bruce Frank just send me an E-Mail
with the story which I am including here. Many participants in this
newgroup including myself knew Badwater Bill (aka: Bill Phillips) and
either loved him,...

Someone using my name posting on forums by
Dudley Henriques[_2_]
Just be advised FWIW to everybody, someone is posting on using my name.
Don't have any idea how it's being done but I do realize that these
things are possible. I DO use my own name and my real email address on
the forums so if any of you computer gurus out here can trace this
character down please...

auto fuel issues by
rich[_2_]
right now, avgas is running $2 more a gallon than premium car gas. And
from what I've read, premium auto gas doesn't contain ethonol. My
homebuilt has a 160 lycoming, which is supposed to be approved for
premium auto fuel. The only drawback I can think of is the stability
of auto gas sitting in...

13 NOV 2008
Marks the end of my day.
0600 Marks its awakening but the pill regime is already six hours
old. Then 0900, 1200, 1500, 1800, 2100 and finally 2200, a Special
Dose of three drugs known to interact with pills taken at 2100. So we
give the 2100 pills a chance to dissipate before...

Thrust line: a no-thought experiment. by
Alan Baker
It has been put forward that for an aircraft to be in trimmed out
condition with all forces in balance, the thrust line must be pointed at
the drag line.
So let's do a thought experiment...
....wait.
We don't need to do a thought experiment.

Kitplanes 11/08 Headphones for a Buck by

Here's proof the price of electronics is going down. I was transferring

kitplanes magazine with the title "The $10 Airplane Headphone, Kodak and
the Shack are back to save Your Ears and Wallet." Written by Jim Weir of

R.S.Hoover's Back Operation by

Hi guys,
I'm doing good. They DID do the procedure. The pain was an artifact
OF the procedure. I should of been FORCED to take the painkillers
about 1500 instead of being allowed to sleep. But the instructions
fell into an information gap somewhere between the physician and me.
I'll probably...
