I can teach anyone how to get what they want out of life. by

"I can teach anyone how to get what they want out of life. The problem is I can't find anybody who can tell me what they want." -- Mark Twain "Today people in America can become whatever they want. Trouble is most don't know what they want." -- Earl Nightingale What do you want? Are you sick of the...

There is an article in a daily newspaper on a jubilee glider:
Here's a link if anyone can read Polish:

Club management software by
Marc Arsenault
Hello all,
In order to perhaps avoid building a specific database (trial and error), is
there available a good club management software presently that can along
with standard items such as accounting, track pilot competency and curency?
I am aware of the availability of some rather expensive...

mea culpa by
John Shelton
Sorry to perceverate. For some reason, I cannot see my own posts. While this
demonstrates good taste on my part. It also reveals that I have put myself
on the blocked list with Lennie.
Once again, sorry for 3 similar posts in 2 days.

LS-4 by
Waduino
We're getting totally buried in the old thread...
So, as a newbie I have a few questions...
There seems to be almost consensus (!!) that the LS4 is a great ship. Good
performance. Very kind behaviour for low time pilots. Is someone actually
producing new LS-4s? Where and what is the price? Is the...

DG service for LS gliders by
James
I'm curious to know what sorts of experiences others have had in
getting parts and service for their LS gliders since DG has assumed
ownership.
I am trying to buy an LS-3-17 from a fellow pilot at our field. The
airframe has 3000 hours, and therefore requires a major inspection in
accordance with...

5000th glider rolls out the SZD factory by
Janusz Kesik
It's just over 5000 gliders have been manufactured by SZD Bielsko. The
5000th glider is a SZD-59 Acro, which production has been restarted after
some break prior to privatization of the factory.
Here are some photos to look at:

US Dollar sinks to new low against Euro by
Mike Stringfellow
The US dollar is now valued close to 0.75 Euro, down from its peak of
1.25 a couple of years ago. Analysts say it may go even lower, with
some projecting exchange rates of 0.7 (1.4 dollar to the Euro).
This has pretty much put the kibosh on my goals of buying a new
European sailplane. A model...

Gordon Schubert
I am going to be flying in a Duo Discus from the rear
seat in the near future. Since I am fairly large, 6'1',
245lbs, I am wondering about the weight limitations
and the size of the rear seat. Can anyone help?
Thanks!

Robert Mudd has stolen items by
mat Redsell
Robert Mudd took two aluminum panels from our workshop to build a trailer
for his apis. In return me promised to replace those with two 12 foot
sections of similar material. I reluctantly agreed to this trade but Robert
has never given us those panels. I reminded him just before he left for...

Assembly Problems by
JJ Sinclair
I have always had problems in getting the first main wing pin started.
Recently I did some checking and found that not all main wing pins are
created equal. Some come with generous tapered ends and others come
with a very sharp slope or no taper at all. My Genesis 2, for example
has a 4:1 taper...

Will cheaper motorgliders increase the number of soaring pilots? by
Eric Greenwell
We were suffering severe thread drift, so I pulled this out of the pile...
Kirk Stant wrote:
I'd guess if/when you get that Antares, you'll find whatever you fly now,
collecting dust.
Good point (and all of this discussion is fun - "devil's advocate"

World Distance Award by
Duane Eisenbeiss
The WDA was started in Jan, 1992. It got off to a slow start and then
became rather dormant for a number of reasons. In an effort to revitalize
this worthwhile cross-country soaring program an article was prepared for
SOARING magazine (see Sept, 2004 issue) and the SSA has finally listed...
