Cordele, Georgia, Report Friday 18 May 07 by
Ray Lovinggood
Are we in Georgia? South Georgia? In May? Last night,
I think the temperatures dropped to the low 50's or
high 40's and today, they rose to the mid 80's. Ahh,
very nice. And very nice for soaring, too.
The CD decided for some manly tasks today. The forecast
called for blue skies and windy. ...

New Condor Scenery: Mifflin! by
Lucky Klassen
I just downloaded the new Mifflin scenery addition to Condor Flight
Sim. I have never flown out of Mifflin in real life (yet-...must
rework the Lak-12 trailer...). I took a ASW-22 up for a flight and
recognised many terrain features from my favorite soaring movie "A
Fine Week of Soaring". The best...

EPIRB, ELT or Satellite Phone in USA? by
[email protected]
My experiences with light aircraft, aviation-related Search and Rescue
operations in the contiguous USA coupled with the recent near-tragedy
in the Appalachians leads me to believe that one might be better
served with a Satellite phone in most circumstances common to gliders
- landouts or...

Cordele, Georgia, Report Thursday 17 May 07 by
Ray Lovinggood
No Contest today. The weather just didn't cooperate.
The weatherman/sniffer Ray Galloway launched and didn't
like what he saw. They then launched Sam Giltner,
who was first on the grid for Sports Class, and he
concurred with Ray. Considering we've had three fine
soaring days and weather looking...

Cordele, Georgia, Report Wednesday 16 May 07 by
Ray Lovinggood
Whoa Nelly, as many Americans have heard while watching
college football on tv. We had another great day of
soaring here in south Georgia. Cloud bases to 6,300,
plus or minus. Good lift when you needed it. Sink
when you didn't.
Let's see, winners on Tuesday:
18m: John Murray (ASG-29)

Tubercles lower stalling airspeed? by
Angus Mac Lir
Jokes aside, this is serious research:
'...The potential was enough for the Ontario Centres
of Excellence and the Ontario Power Authority to contribute
about $70,000 in early-stage research funding, and
to encourage collaboration with the wind-engineering
group at the University of Western...

hx 4700 storage by
John Galloway[_1_]
Ipaqs batteries run down pretty quickly even when switched
off. If I unlock an hx4700 battery without removing
it (by flicking the left hand battery lock switch on
the base of the unit to the right) then unit seem to
switch off fully allowing the main battery to stay
charged. The back-up battery...
