Aero-retrieve WING-RUNNER by
JJ Sinclair[_2_]
Several pilots have asked me to build them a copy of my WING-RUNNER. It assembles by inserting 2 pins and slips over your wing tip, held in place with good old duct tape (provided). Keeps the wing tip about 6" off the runway/grass/gravel/short weeds! Collapses to 8" X 2" X 2" for easy storage

Aerobatic Boxes by
Mike Schumann
Is there anywhere on-line where one can search for the details of aerobatic
boxes that have been established by the FAA. I am particularly interested
in the vicinity around Immokalee FL (KIMM).

Aerobatic Two Seat Gliders? by
Terry Pitts
There was a recent thread about inexpensive two seat gliders. I made me wonder how crazy I might be.
I'd like to buy a two seat glider that could be used for beginner to intermediate-ish aerobatics. Fun for me, perhaps someone might want to do some aerobatics for a flight review instead of an hour...

Aerobatics course in Europe? by
TeetJ
Hi,
Can anyone suggest a glider aerobatics course?
I am considering having a nice vacation this summer, travel and learn
new stuff.
I have about 400 hours of experience and before going on with never-
ending polishing of XC skills, I was considering going for something
completely different :-)

Aerobatics in semi acrobatic certified sailplanes by
jams
Hi all,
I have recently become interested in gliding and have been exploring the aspects associated with the sport.
I'm going to use the term 'standard glider' to represent any non-acro 15m glider, (ASW 19/20, Speed Astir, LS range, DG range, PIK20D etc) not standard class.
I recently started...

Aerodynamic Simulation of Standard Cirrus Glider by
Jim Hendrix
Stefan Melber, et. al., have just published an aerodynamic simulation of a
Standard Cirrus glider. It's a scholarly work and will not be understood by
most of us, but the pictures are informative and worth taking a look at.
You will find a link to it at www.standardcirrus.org. It's a 1.2 MB...

Aerodynamics of aero towing by
Martin Gregorie[_5_]
This is a quick observation report. Its really a follow up to a sub-topic
on the "Poor lateral control on a slow tow" thread.
Last Friday I was sitting outside the CGC clubhouse, which was at the
upwind end of the active runway, when our Pawnee went past at about 200
ft with a Ventus on the...

Aerodynamics of carrying water by
Gene Whitt
Y'all,
Been many years on rec.aviation.student but even more years since
gliding. Unable to explain the 'why' of water ballast to increase
performance in gliders to argumentative airplane student.
I need a simple explanation in 25 words or less.

Aerotow - learning and teaching by
[email protected]
This is a spin-off from the post from the frustrated newbie who was
challenged with flying the aerotow on his first lesson.
I no longer ask first-timers (including airplane pilots) to fly the
glider on aerotow - not until they get some stick-time in free flight,
and a sense of where "level" is. ...

Aerotow - Newsletter by
Tom[_9_]
In response to a request, I am going to send out newsletters regarding
aerotow safety and procedures. There are variations on the theme
around the soaring community, and a discussion may help prevent
accidents.
Glider pilots, CFIs and tow pilots are invited to subscribe and
perhaps send comments....

Aerotow Fuel Costs & Winch Launching by
Derek Copeland[_2_]
My UK gliding club has just been forced to increase the cost of 2000ft
aerotows from £25 to £29 (about $58), just due to the spiralling price of
fuel.
A good case for more winch launching perhaps!
