LX9050 for sale by Ben Hirashima
I have a lightly used LX9050 for sale. This is a bare computer, without the matching V8 vario. I'm asking $1500, and it would take another $1500-1600 to get the V8 vario and cables needed to make a complete system. That's a substantial savings over the $4300 the entire system costs new. There is...

Dear Sean Fidler by Ben Hughes
Get a grip man. Using the death of a pilot at a competition yesterday as a carrier for a self-obsessed monologue about how right you were to turn down your invitation to the event? Classy stuff. I see you're also deleting comments from and banning from your Sean's Sociopathing Page anyone...

Another way to replacing instrument panels by ben soaring
Why bother chasing a new instrument panel? They are very expensive, hard to get, and a blank "factory" panel is difficult to cut properly and get "spot on". This alternative method works great and actually offers "easier to service" benefits. The concept is to cut a new panel from redi-available...

Pawnee PA25 Lead (Pb) contamination by [email protected]
Has anyone ever dealt with lead (Pb) issues in the cockpit of a Pawnee? I recently did a 3M lead test on the surfaces in the cockpit and found high lead readings. I suspect it is related to 100LL fumes coming into the cockpit around the floor in fore of the rudder pedals.

Which 18m FES sailplane to buy? by [email protected]
I'm considering the purchase of an 18m FES equipped sailplane, and would like to hear thoughts and opinions about the various options available. I'm seeking a cross country machine with long legs and a highly reliable sustainer. An 18m FES sailplane should fit that requirement nicely. I'm a...

Lookout for stolen LX9050 flight computer by [email protected]
My LXNav LX9050 flight computer was stolen from my apartment building in San Francisco on February 5th. I had sent it to LXNav in Slovenia for repair, and they fixed it and sent it back. The package was left in the mail room inside the apartment building, but someone sneaked in through the garage...

Discus 2b versus LS-6c by [email protected]
Which would you buy and why? Everyone probably knows the Discus 2b, but in case you're not familiar with the LS-6c, it has 15m and 17.5m tips, automatic control hookups (unlike the 6a and 6b), and a safety cockipit (unlike the 6a and 6b).

GliderLink - New team soaring app for airborne location sharing by [email protected]
I'm excited to announce a new soaring app I've developed called GliderLink. The app shows your location and the location of nearby gliders on a moving map. You can see the other gliders' callsign, relative altitude, heading, and vertical speed. That's about it right now; it's very simple. The value...

AA Butterfly versus CNv LCD wind calculation by [email protected]
The Air Avionics Butterfly has developed an outstanding reputation as having a competitive advantage for its ability to "instantaneously" calculate wind direction. Does the CNv (with latest 3.3.3899 or beta 3.4.4089) calculate wind as quickly as the Butterfly? T8, what is the wind direction...
