craggy aero ultimate by

I'm considering to buy the Craggy Aero Ultimate flight computer.
Has anyone had any luck running TopHat or XCsoar software on this device?
Richard is very non-committal about anything other than the SeeYou software, but I'm very much used to and like the TopHat or XCsoar programs so hence my...

Kobo vs Nook by
6PK
I have been running a Kobo Glo for three seasons now and for the most part I'm happy with it. The one problem I had encountered a few times when down low in the heat, the screen tends to fade out but so far every time it recovered-no problem it had never crashed.
I just wondered if anyone...

water ballast by
6PK
Ok, I understand the theory behind the use or need of ballasting, specially into a headwind.
A recent discussion debated the need or rather the "no need" for any ballast for a down wind run.
Would like opinions; pros or con please?

Motor Glider Becker Radio Set Up by

Does anyone have experience and can recommend Becker radio (6201) set up to allow for both use of a boom mic / speaker phone and headset connections? I have the boom / mic speaker working well but cannot transmit / receive in the headset.
Thanks.

Speeds to fly for Two-Up cross country in ASK21? by
77[_2_]
Am going to fly a club K21 in the upcoming contest at CCSC and have
been trying to find some basic speed to fly data.
What I have so far is Schleicher says( in an on-line brochure) that
the L/D flown two up is 34 at 90 KMH...so I interpret that to be about
49 Kts.
They also say that the stall...

Hello All:
Am doing a work up of the profitability (or not) of the glider manufacturing and sales businesses.
Among the unknowns a
1) What do we believe the profit margins are on the sale of a glider by the manufacturer? For instance, an ASG-29?
2) What do we believe the various reps/agents...

WGC Uvalde: US Team... What Happened???? by

To everyone with an interest:
Given the sub-par, and I am being generous here, performance of the US Soaring Team at the recently completed WGC. Is anyone else wondering what in the world happened?
Maybe the lack of debate and substantive change around this topic is why we did so badly in the...

Slow Tows and Upsets by

There have been a couple of interesting discussions about towing on RAS. I think Chris Rollings opened a few eyes as to what actually starts a tug upset in his post:
Third test: Terrier Tow-Plane, K 8b on C of G hook. I pitched the glider
about 25 degrees nose up.
