water ballast leak by
Robert Harvey
I own an LS4A glider which has developed a leak in
the left wing. The bags do not leak and I have done
every thing I can think of to fix the leak. If anyone
has had a similar problem I would like to hear from
you and maybe make the repair.

Thermals in hell by
01-- Zero One
All of the recent posts about hell got me to thinking about the possible
strength of thermals in hell.
If hell is infinitely hot, even with the eventual melting and
disintegration of the glider, would we not be able to climb fast enough
to escape hell (another example of a 'low save').

Uploading CAI file from Cam 20 to OLC by
Roy Clark, B6
I am a firm supporter of the OLC; L wrote an article for my club
newsletter and gave a presentation at our monthly meeting using a
modification of Reiner's 2005 SSA OLC one.
However, I'm having a dickens of a time uploading my flight traces to
the OLC.
Use a Cambridge GPS Model 20 and...

Centrair contact by
Chuck Kotila
I have had no success in contacting Centrair to order new rudder pedals. I
have sent a letter to Centrair via the U.S. postal service and have had no
response. I have attempted to "fax" Centrair to only get transmission
error messages. I have called Centrair on the 'phone and received...

Schempp-Hirth water Ballast Cap vent Mod by
Paul M. Cordell
I am always amazed at how few Schempp-Hirth Glider owners have done this
very simple Mod to their water ballast system. The addition of this 1
way valve to the top cap of the ballast tank plug will prevent water
from flowing out of the tank prior to launch. You can put a wing down
without...

Attilio Pronzati +2005 by
cernauta
Dear All,
Attilio Pronzati died yesterday, in his home. For over 50 years, he
has been one of the most prominent figures in the Italian gliding
movement. He opened new routes for soaring, wrote books and articles,
helped hundreds of pilots to extend the boundaries of their flights.
He will be...

NAVMAN GPS by
Mike Hostage
I am using it with an Ipaq 3955 and CE Glide. Since
they kindly modified the program to accept the NAVMAN's
unusual data rate, it has worked just fine. The 57600
baud rate has prevented me from using Glide Navigator
II. I have not tried WinPilot.

Source for tail wheels by
Simon
Last winter I had the tail skid of my Mini Nimbus replaced with a tailwheel
unit supplied by Schempp. It used a rollerblade (?) wheel with a solid
polyurethane tyre on a plastic hub with two ball-bearings.
After ten landings the hub was cracked and shedding parts and essentially
wrecked
I manged...

Tonopah motels full July 7-11 by

I was in Tonopah recently and the motel clerk mentioned that all hotels
and motels were booked solid for July 7-11 due to a motorcycle rally
hitting town. Sounded like useful info for this group.
