Cobra brake and axle parts offered by
Steve Koerner
My Cobra trailer axle just got replaced due to the fact that it was bent a bit in a freeway collision several months ago. This is a 15M trailer of 2003 vintage (I'm thinking, though, that this same 5-lug Alko brand axle system was used by Cobra over many years). The new axle assembly was quite...

Overspeed Recovery question by
[email protected]
If you inadvertently fly into the yellow range and kiss the red range, and you get into the high speed vibration, what is the best way to slow before the wings depart the glider. My sense is to reach for the spoilers and slowly extend to slow. Any opinions on that matter?

Cobra Trailer: Top's lower front corners distorted by
Dave Nadler
Hi All - Below is the draft I sent to Spindelberger;
nothing happened since; need to chase it...
Problem is two-fold:
- jack the top back to square
- keep it there
I received instructions starting "remove the top from the trailer"...
Right.

Yes, it's only January but we gotta dream...
Miguel and I are planning to go to Salida, CO

Region 2 Photo Album by Paul Naton by
Craig Funston
Paul posted some excellent pictures of the R2 contest on his flicker site. He's primarily an RC glider photographer, but he occasionally includes full size birds. Always nice when he does.

Warrenton Soaring Center Reunion by
Jim Kellett
Did you ever fly at the Warrenton Soaring Center (WSC) in Virginia? WSC operated out of Warrenton Airpark (7VGO) in Fauquier County until 1991. Hundreds of people flew there over the years, many moving on into aviation careers. Even one astronaut visited and flew there! Several of the staff and...

Crossfeed in LS8 wing tanks? by
[email protected]
I have an LS8sT (from DG) which is exhibiting the same problem, leaking from the outer tank to the inner tank - its a later one (post Sn 8500), and my manual says to fill the outer tanks first.
Does anyone have any experience with these?

JJ Sinclair[_2_]
Check out this low level / MOA site http://www.seeandavoid.org/ You can click on Military Bases, Airports, MOA, Low level Routes, Near Misses and Collisions.
Move map around your soaring site, expand, tap on red line and see who controls it. Good stuff!

Contact Info For Hans Beck by
[email protected]
Hello,
I am wondering if anyone has contact info for Hans Beck in Germany. He was (is) the owner of an ASW-12 who has done quite a bit of work tracking down the remaining gliders and also organized some ASW-12 events in the mid 1990s.
Thanks for the assistance.

I'm not able to get data into XCSoar with my intended setup, nor with other phones I have tried. I bought a Samsung Note 4 because it has a large bright screen, I have heard others have had good luck with Note 2 and 3 and I assumed this would be even better. Are other getting a Note 4 to...

Andrzej Kobus
I bought this variometer for Christmas to install it in my current glider, but since then I took advantage of an opportunity to upgrade my glider and I will not be installing this unit. The price is significantly below current pricing at $3100.

There was an advertising mix up in Soaring Mag this month and unfortunately CNi ad that was published contains a confusing error. It says that the base model CNv (aka "Club") vario includes a "non-secure logger" and this isn't correct.
Here's the ad that was intended: ...

Hello all, I have a dittel FSG-60M Radio in my glider. It has a mic plug
with a telex IR Electric headset. The headset is inconvenient and I got a
Dynamic Mic from Wings and wheels. The glider was hard wired with a
PTT and a separate speaker. I have removed the plug on the end of the
mic and I...
