FAA Notice N8900.204 - English Proficiency by
JohnDeRosa
Has everyone seen the below? Comments?
Spoken English proficiency might be "easy" to determine during routine
meetings, but what about written? Ask the pilot to write an essay?
Will the CFI(G) remain anonymous when they "turns in" a pilot to the
FSDO for mispronouncing...

Buffer for Waxing & Polishing by
Mike the Strike
My old orbital buffer died, so I am throwing the question to US RAS members to suggest a replacement. I know they run the whole gamut from $29 to $999 - looking for a recommendation for a reliable and cost-effective unit.

Where to get Becker radios repaired? by
Larry Suter
The word floating around my club that "no one will work in Becker Radios in the USA and it will need to be sent back to the factory in Germany, this is likely going to take a lot of time and money."
Is this correct? Has anyone gotten one fixed in the US recently? Ours is an AR 3201.
Thanks,
Larry

Question about spoilers and pitch stability by
Larry Suter
In his article on avoiding PIO in Grob 103's,
http://www.soaringsafety.org/pilots/ic8.htm
Dean Carswell writes, "the more the airbrakes are closed, the less pitch stability the Grob will have, making a PIO more likely if otherwise mishandled"
Is there a simple explanation why opening the...

New winch operation. by
macquistan
Hello, All,
I'm very happy to announce the inaugural use of our club's new winch this past weekend. We had a total of 37 launches and 36 were incident free. Our one, minor glitch was when a slack rope worked its way under one of our vertical rollers. This was fixed with a small, piece of high...

Links for new people interested in gliding by
Lucky812[_2_]
I have people ask me about gliding all the time. I always send them to the http://www.letsgogliding.com/ site and forward them links for Bruno Vassel or Balleka videos on YouTube.
Does anyone else have any favorite sites that they send people to in order for them to get interested in gliding?

DeLorme inReach by
Paul Remde
Hi,
I've been selling and supporting the SPOT and SPOT 2 products for several
years. They are great products. When the DeLorme inReach was announced, I
didn't think it would be competitive with the SPOT units because of its
higher price. After doing extensive research and testing of a...
