2007 World Series Gliding Final by
Dan G
As far as I can tell, this is going to be held in New Zealand but
won't be produced by Airsports, after the IGC would not enter a long-
term arrangement with them to make their level of coverage
demonstrated in 2006 economically viable.
So does anyone know what the 2007 final is going to be like?...

Soaring in Owens Valley by
Tuno
Team Tuno did a vehicular excursion through Southern California over
the weekend which included the stretch of Hwy 395 from Lee Vining
south through Bishop and Inyokern.
I'd heard of Owens Valley a few times in soaring write-ups, but
driving through it, I was amazed at the geology, with the...

Towing glider trailers with a VW Jetta Wagon? by
Allan[_2_]
I have one and I'm seriously thinking about putting a hitch on it to
(among other things) tow glider trailers with.
Anyone out there doing it?
What hitch do you have?
Which engine? I have the 1.9 TDI, which I think has plenty of power
for it...

Pilots and Following Sports - Do You? by
ContestID67
I don't follow sports and never have short of knowing if the home team
is doing well. Call me a fair weather fan. Many of my friends can
spout which team (pro, college, HS) did what to whom and know all the
players, their stats, etc. I try to put up a good manly face and say
the right things...

Spam Filter? by
[email protected]
It's great that we have this forum for discussing Glider related
topics, but isn't there a way to filter out the carp (intended
misspelling) that's obviously originating from non-pilots about non-
flying-related topics?

this something a reasonabley compitent person can do on his own, or should

Wave today in Northeast USA by
Tim Hanke
Several pilots climbed in wave today in Saratoga Springs, New York. It
is strange to have wave in August. This is the 1st time in 20 years
that I can remember having wave in August. It felt like autumn today.
Mike McCarron, MC, climbed to 18,000 ft and was hoping that through
Albany's Control...

At risk of starting a religious war. by
Bruce
As far as I know the criticisms of the DuoDiscus related to
Cockpit space - particularly in the front.
Outlanding capability - effectiveness of airbrakes.
Unsprung and low clearance undercarriage
So Schempp-Hirth went away and improved the breed. Not least I am sure because
the DG1000 apparently...
