Solo 2350D won't start by
BillT
Our Duo's turbo has suddenly stopped working. It spins up ok at 55Kt when decompressed & continues windmilling when the decompression is released. The engine starts after 2 - 3 seconds, runs for 2 seconds then cuts out. After 1 - 2 seconds it starts again & the sequence is repeated. It's as if the...

One Degree of Separation by
Jonathan St. Cloud
While not technically a soaring story it is aviation. I thought the group could use some fun from a real story and whom among us hasn't given a ride to someone we wished we hadn't.
One Degree of Separation
Full disclosure, this is a true story, but with plausible deniability and to protect me...

Cleaning seat belt materials by
AS
Hi all - does anyone have any experience with cleaning seat belt webbing? I can remove the buckles from the webbing and was wondering if this material can be washed using a mild detergent like Woollite or similar.

Is teflon safe to use under mylar tape wing seals? by
Tom BravoMike
I have applied some teflon spray with a brush into the canopy sliding window rails with good result. Now I'm wondering whether I could use it in the same way under the mylar tape on the wings to reduce friction and ease forces on the ailerons. Any thoughts if and how it reacts with gelcoat/glass...

Add-on have to take the Knowledge test? by

As I interpret 14 CFR 61.63 (Additional aircraft ratings ...), particularly this part, an applicant for a category add-on rating:
(4) Need not take an additional knowledge test, provided the applicant holds an airplane, rotorcraft, powered-lift, weight-shift-control aircraft, powered parachute, or...

GREAT fun and scenic flight by Joe Bostic by
Bob T
Joe Bostic had the opportunity and pleasure yesterday to fly toward Durango and over Silverton and Telluride on a flight from Moriarty, getting to see the color and grandeur of the San Juan mountains many of us in SW Colorado used to view almost daily when flying from the now closed down Val Air...

Concealed Carry In MY ASW27 by
Bob Youngblood
What a surprise, just today my son brought me a great gift to fight off the flaming liberals at the gliderport. It is a Bulgarian AK47 with 2000 rounds of ammunition. Thank god that I raised this kid correctly, educated him and he achieved the status of a Structural Engineer, PE.
He advised me to...

Double dipping on the OLC?? by

Anybody been noticing duplicate flights being posted on OLC by Daniel

mistake. Last one was July 5 posted from Moriarty.

L-Nav v 5.8 EPROM by
Steve Leonard[_2_]
So, anyone have a source for those unicorns? I have several 5.7, but like the display options for 5.8 a LOT more. I recall asking dealers some years ago, and was told that I had bought all available from the dealers I spoke with. Wondering if there might be a way to get older ones re-programmed...

Adhesive for wing bumper pads by
william geiger
I need to reattach one. What adhesive would work? I think I put this one on with rubber cement and got 10 plus years service but was wondering if there is a better solution for getting the flat surface of the rubber bumper to adhere to the curved wing surface.
