Glider from Canada by Terry Pitts
All, There is an L33 on Wings and Wheels that interests me. It is in Ottawa. I'd like to have a mechanic look at it for me. Do you know of anyone in the Vermont, New Hampshire, or close part(s) of New York who you would recommend? I know I'll need an export certificate of airworthiness. I know...

KGARS - Kiting Glider Automatic Relase System by Karl Striedieck[_2_]
Richard Green of the Wycombe Test Group, High Wycombe, Bucks. UK designed and tested an auto release and offered to sell me one back in 1980. His long hand letter to me said that he was "an old age pensioner" so maybe he and his BGA certified release are something of history. The engineering blue...

File from PowerMouse - IGC? by Dave Springford
Does anyone have an IGC file from an IGC approved PowerMouse? I am seeking approval for the non-IGC version as a Position Recorder from our NAC. My club put them in our K-21B's where they will do the occasional 5 hr and 1000 m height gain silver badge legs. I am trying to ascertain how to...

Not Gliding, But Flying, Sorta.... by Dan Marotta
I'm in the country south of Blum, TX where I've just completed my new gyro plane kit.Â* Unfortunately, the as delivered brake master cylinder was faulty, so I've had to tie the aircraft down for engine run tests.Â* Otherwise, everything worked perfectly except for a very small coolant leak...

The aerodynamics of a towplane in a kiting glider situation by Tom BravoMike
I know there is a thread going on about and around the latest tragic accident from 5-9-2020 and I preferred to start a new thread as I felt uncomfortable going into a dry technical discussion in the context. So the issue is: I would like to know more about the aerodynamics of the towplane in all...

Battery Charger for PowerSonic SLA/AGM batteries by John Foster
I'm looking for a good charger for my PowerSonic AGM batteries. I have a car charger, but that seems to be malfunctioning, as it doesn't seem to want to charge car batteries or my glider batteries. Any recommendations on a good charger for these type of batteries?

Solo 2350 Un-Pickle procedure by Jonathan St. Cloud
I was looking through the aircraft Maintenance manual and the solo 2350 engine manual, both have the same procedure for long term storage (over 2 months). Neither has the "un-pickle" procedure. Was looking for guidance from those knowledgable. Thank you in advance, Jon

Oudie gear warning? by [email protected]
Hey all - I just acquired an original Oudie and I have noticed a gear warning in the profile setup. Not mentioned in the manual and the previous 2 owners do not know about it. I have not noticed it trying to get my attention in the pattern either. I will ask Naviter next unless youze can fill me in.

KGARS - Kiting Glider Automatic Relase System by [email protected]
I am thinking A CG tow hook for the towplane, likr RC models do. This way Glider can stall the tow plane while kiting, but not point its nose down. I envision a tunnel for the tow rope along the fuselage top so it doesn't jam the rudder/elevator. The front end of tunnel/rope is connected to the...

Mentorship for Women by [email protected]
Playing off the US success at the 2020 WWGC, our family is interested in partially sponsoring one or more mentorship activities to support the training of women glider pilots (for early phase, rusty, competitive, XC, aerobatic, demo flight, etc.). Unlike some other funding sources, the money would...

2020 Accidents & Insurance, usa by CindyB[_2_]
There has been less flying this spring due to Covid-19, yet a 30% increase in horrific accidents in the US 2019 vs. 2020. A letter went out today urging several good ideas to consider by clubs and businesses to help reverse this trend. Webinars, ground school sessions, additional dual checks...

rotax carb by john firth
Amongst all the weighty deliberations on improving safety, maybe someone experienced and knowlegable about diaphrgam carburetors could give me guidance. I fly a PIK 20E , Rotax 501 unreliable engine which has been behaving erratically, surging but not misfiring that I can detect. From the plugs...
